Tournament FAQ

Q: How can I purchase tickets?

A: Tickets are available online only at www.DowGLBI.com until mid-June. They will then be on sale at the Dow GLBI office at 117 East Main Street in Midland, or at participating Meijer stores. They will also be available for purchase onsite at the tournament Welcome Center throughout the tournament.

 

Q: What are my parking options?

A:  General spectator parking will be at Dow Diamond. Sponsors, VIP, MCC members, and volunteers will have access to park at Midland High School. Both parking locations will be shuttled to Midland Country Club via buses. Buses will run 1/2 hour before gates open and 1/2 hour after the final group finishes each day. Bike parking will also be available onsite at Midland Country Club. Event signage will direct bikes to bike parking at the event.

 

Q: What food and beverage options are available on course?

A: Several moderately priced concession stands will be located throughout the course with a variety of food and beverage options, including beer and wine. Reusable water pouches will be available for $2, with free access to drinking water stations throughout the course (you can also fill your own reusable water bottle).

 

Q: Where can I buy merchandise?

A: The Midland Country Club Golf Shop will be open to the public throughout the tournament. They have shirts, outerwear, golf towels, pin flags, and plenty of other Dow GLBI branded gift items.

Q: Are there any grandstands for public viewing?

A: Yes, there are grandstands on hole 1 and hole 13 for public viewing. Spectators can also view the action on any hole from outside the roped-off section of that hole. While over-sized lawn chairs are prohibited, smaller, lightweight travel chairs are welcome.

 

Q: Are there public restrooms onsite?

A: Yes, several public restrooms will be available onsite across the entire venue.

 

Q: Is the event handicap accessible?

A: Yes, there are also designated locations for viewing for those in wheelchairs. The Eat Great trail location on hole 12 tee is also handicap accessible as well as the Diamond Club suites on hole 18. There will also be handicap accessible buses transporting to and from general parking.

 

Q: Is there a lactation room onsite?

A: Yes, please refer to the map in the Dow GLBI mobile app and onsite for the specific location.

 

Q: Is there a place to change baby diapers onsite?

A: Yes, please refer to the map in the Dow GLBI mobile app and onsite for a specific location.

 

Q: What am I allowed to bring and not bring to the golf course for the event?

A: The following items are prohibited to bring on the course: 

  • Containers and/or coolers

  • Backpacks (except for the drawstring variety typically carried by children) and oversize bags (except for diaper bags when an infant/young child is present)

  • Golf clubs

  • Cameras, camcorders or video cameras (except during practice rounds for personal photographic use only, and only without their cases)

  • Noise producing devices

  • Cases and/or covers (such as umbrella and folding chair covers)

  • Computers, laptops, laser pointing devices, radios or TVs

  • Pets (other than service animals)

  • Fireworks/explosives

  • Aerosol cans and bottles

  • Oversize chairs/lawn chairs

  • Ladders or similar devices

  • Metal-spiked golf shoes

  • Any material constituting unauthorized advertising/promotions

  • Unmanned aircraft (drones, etc.)

  • Illegal substances

  • All food and/or drinks unless necessary to treat a medical condition or infant needs

  • Flags and/or banners large enough to obstruct views of the competition

  • Anything that can be used as a weapon (firearms, knives or weapons of any nature – regardless of permit) *See notation below.

  • Any other items deemed unlawful, dangerous, inappropriate, or disruptive by the LPGA and/or tournament site security personnel, in their sole discretion.

  • Bags are restricted to the following size: 12x12x12 transparent bag or 6x6x6 non-transparent bag

Q: How do I get more information about the event?

A: Download the Dow GLBI mobile app in the iPhone or Android app stores.

 

Q: What should I wear to the event?

A: Dress for the weather! Summer is typically warm in Michigan but could be cooler in the mornings and evenings, where you might want a light jacket.  Please stay hydrated and use sunscreen and sunglasses to protect your skin and eyes.  Wear walking shoes, comfortable tennis shoes are recommended.  You do not need to wear golf shoes.

 

Q: Do I need a ticket for my child?

A: Kids 17 and under get in free with a ticketed adult. Tickets for children under 17 will be distributed at the event gates. Anyone over 17 must purchase $10 general admission ticket to get into the event (daily ticket, weekly passes also available).

Q: What is the Eat Great Hospitality Trail?

A: The 4-day Eat Great Hospitality Trail will allow spectators to purchase an upgraded food, beverage, and viewing experience on-course at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. Hospitality trail tickets include access to four upgraded viewing decks spread throughout the golf course. Participants are encouraged to move between the decks, tasting samples of the dishes and brews unique to each county in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Tickets are $40 per day and also include general admission.

Q: Can kids come into the Eat Great Trail with me?

A: Kids 12 and under will be granted free access to the Eat Great Trail. Ages 13-20 require a $20 upgraded Eat Great Ticket.

 

Q: Can I sign my kids up for the Junior Clinic?

A: Yes, there are spots available for the public to sign up, visit www.dowglbi.com/the-first-tee-junior-golf-clinic for more information.

 

Q: Is the Beer Garden open to the public?

A: Yes, the Larkin Beer Garden onsite at the Dow GLBI is open at 10am daily Monday – Saturday and free to the public. It is located between holes 15 and 17 at Midland Country Club. 

 

Q: How do veterans/active duty military access their free tickets?

A: You can print your free tickets on https://www.dowglbi.com/tickets or simply show up at the event. We ask all veterans do bring a form of ID showing past or current military status. Any veteran and/or active duty military member qualifies for one free ticket per day to the Dow GLBI. Family/friends attending with the veteran will have to purchase a ticket.

 

Q: Can I bring my family into the Wells Fargo Advisers Veterans Tent onsite?

A: Yes, veterans will be allowed one guest at no charge, additional guests will be charged a $15 admission fee. 

 

Q: Where is the veteran's tent located?

A: The Wells Fargo Advisers Veterans Tent will be located at the Larkin Beer Garden onsite between holes 15 and 17 and is open daily Monday – Saturday starting at 10am.

 

Q: I am a Midland Country Club member, where do I find information about the Dow GLBI for club members?

A: Please visit www.midlandcc.net and click on the Dow GLBI tab for information related to Midland Country Club members.

 

Q: What is the STEM in Sports Center?

A: This is an interactive sports experience designed for kids (and parents) of all ages to participate in sports as well as learn about how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is a part of every sport we play. It will be located inside the Midland Country Club Ballroom from Wednesday – Saturday during the tournament and is accessible from the area outside hole 18 tee. Admission to the Stem in Sports Center is free for all ages but does require a general admission ticket to the Dow GLBI.
