Dow GLBI and Eat Great provide updates on 2021 events
Event officials to allow fan attendance at the Dow GLBI, cancels Eat Great for 2021
The Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational is pleased to host fans when the LPGA team event returns to the Midland Country Club from July 11 – 17, 2021. Ticket sales will be announced soon. Per the latest guidelines from the state of Michigan, outdoor sporting events can be operated with fans. To minimize risks related to the COVID-19 pandemic, event officials are continuing to work closely with local and state health officials, the city of Midland, Dow, and the LPGA to ensure the 2021 Dow GLBI is operated safely. A host of safety measures are being planned including social distancing guidelines, hand sanitizing stations, mask requirements, individually packaged food and beverages, and safety volunteer ambassadors. Space Facility Armor will also be used to clean and sanitize common areas such as the clubhouse, hospitality suites, admissions, restrooms, and food areas. This water-based CDC accepted application kills 99% of microbes on surfaces and prevents them from repopulating for up to two years. Spectators are encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to ensure the state of Michigan meets its vaccination goals which will support events like the Dow GLBI to take place across the state.
Event organizers also announced the cancellation of the Eat Great Food Festival, scheduled for July 11 – 12, 2021, in Bay City. The two-day event is expected to return in 2022 hosted in Wenonah Park in Bay City. Eat Great is committed to keeping the brand alive by highlighting the diverse culinary talent, restaurants, and flavors in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Some of these efforts include Eat Great Pop-Up events and the return of the Eat Great Trail at the Dow GLBI. Eat Great Trail ticketholders will have access to a variety of menu items on several hospitality decks located throughout the course at Midland Country Club. A selection of beer and wine will be available for guests 21 and over. Follow @EatGreatFestival on Instagram and Facebook or online at EatGreatFoodFestival.com for the latest updates.
