Admission/

Will Call

Responsible for staffing the ticket booth and assisting security to ensure all spectators have the proper tickets for entry; Will-Call volunteers are responsible for staffing a location for ticket buyers to pick up previously purchased tickets.

Caddie

Tent

Responsible for upkeep of Caddie area.  Hand out lunch vouchers, yardage books, bibs, etc. for Caddie use. Responsible for full on-site Caddie experience. 

Traits: Highly organized, familiar with course map and all alternative routes, understanding of golf etiquette, firm understanding of event policies, professional

Carts/

Shuttles

Manage the Cart Area and control the charging, distribution, and collection of carts to authorized personnel. Assist with transporting professionals and volunteers throughout the course.

Active days: Sunday-Saturday; July 14-18, 2020; outdoor committee, under tent

Driving Range/ Practice Facilities

Assist in providing and maintaining a suitable driving range for all contestants. Specific duties include maintaining supplies with the facility such as range balls, beverages, and player identification signs. 

Responsibilities include: Guest check-in, selling tickets, distributing wristbands, assisting guests with special needs, answering questions regarding directions, and any other Food Festival related information. Volunteers may also assist vendors with serving samples, loading and unloading of vendor supplies, and any other responsibilities that may arise.

Festival

(Off-site)

The Eat Great Food Festival is a two-day food event hosted by Be Alive in conjunction with the Dow Great lakes Bay Invitational in Downtown Bay City. It will kick off tournament week on, Sunday July 12 &  Monday July 13 featuring samples of beer, wine, and signature dishes from around the region as well as live entertainment.

Hospitality

Responsible for ensuring that all patrons have proper credentials to enter the hospitality suite area and assist with locations of specific suites. Busing tables, quiet signs, wristband delivery, etc.

Marshals

Marshals ensure fair play among all participants as well as safety for spectators, and are stationed at locations throughout the course. Focus is on the tees, landing areas, greens, and spectator crosswalks. Prepare for longer shift hours.

Marshal Lunch Delivery

Responsible for delivering boxed lunches to marshals stationed throughout the course.

Media

Center

Assist with general operations of the Media Center and promotion of the Tournament.

Traits: Female, friendly, avid golfer, knowledge of host site/tournament/region, knowledge of LPGA players, firm understanding of event policies, professional

Player

Services

Responsible for signing in players as they arrive throughout the week.  Required to get players to fill out necessary paper work, pay entry fees, sign tournament memorabilia, etc.

Pro-Am

Caddies

(Youth Program) 

Needed as caddies to encourage amateurs to walk their round with the professionals. Volunteers will be required to utilize push/pull carts while walking 18 holes.

Pro-Am Experience

Needed to assist with the organization and distribution of autographed framed photos for each group and to assist with the Pro-Am shopping experience.

On-Course Services

Replenish water, ice, and other product on course.

Traits: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time outside and have a positive, friendly attitude at all times when interacting with spectators.

On-Course Ambassadors

Responsibilities include greeting spectators, helping with tournament App, answering questions regarding directions, pairings, and any other tournament related information. Ambassadors will be centrally located on the course.

Traits: Must be able to lift minimum 25 lbs up to 75 lbs,firm understanding of event policies, professional

Active days: July 11-19, 2020; outdoor committee

Operations

Focused on pre- and post-event construction support, with some shifts available during the week. Responsibilities will include handling volunteer operations, radios, setting starter tents, doing rope/signage touchups, and working with Caddie Chair to get towels and bibs set.

Putt for Paradise 

Responsible for running the Putt for Paradise station. Required to have participants fill out the information card, explain the rules to them, and record each competitor’s results so that a winner may be crowned at the end of each day.

Scoring

Control

Responsible for obtaining scores from the walking scorers via the radio and entering them into the computers for the leader board. Substantial golf knowledge is necessary.

Tent

Responsible for the collection of Official Scorecards from each professional group.

Traits: Ability to hold a standard and walk 18 holes, basic knowledge of golf, firm understanding of event policies, professional

Standard

Bearers

Responsible for carrying a standard (scoring sign) for an entire round. Physically demanding; volunteers must be able to walk 18 holes and carry a standard. Basic golf knowledge is required. Committee is reserved for youth participants 13 – 17 years of age. Registration for this committee will open at a later date.

STEM in Sports Youth Center

Duties include assisting with youth center games and activities as well as distributing healthy snacks to children in the center.

Sustainability Green Team

 ​Educate the public on proper recycling material. Notify advisers when waste receptacles are full and need to be transferred to central accumulation areas. Provide information to attendees about our greening efforts.

Television

Works closely with the Golf Channel in order to broadcast the event.  Roles include microphone operators, laser operators, etc. By Invitation Only.

Tournament

Office

Responsible for managing the Tournament phone line and various office administrative tasks.

Transportation

Responsible for transporting players, staff, and VIPs to various locations in courtesy vehicles provided by the Tournament. Responsible for transporting volunteers to various shuttle points throughout the course.

Volunteer

Services

Responsible for staffing the volunteer headquarters, handling uniform distribution and maintaining a comfortable working environment for the volunteers.

Walking

Scorers

Scorers follow a group, marking each stroke and specific statistics. At the end of each hole, volunteers are responsible for communicating scores to Scoring Control. Substantial golf knowledge is necessary. Must be able to walk 18 holes. By Invitation Only.
